Packrafting Olivia River

$ 160.000

On a half-day trip, which combines trekking with paddling, you will enjoy all the excitement of a winding river surrounded by peat bogs, where at every turn the imposing landscape surprises you with its snow-capped peaks and glaciers, a magical atmosphere of the Andes Mountains. Designed for those who want to have fun, share, and let themselves be carried away by the water. No previous experience is necessary, but a minimum level of physical fitness and an adventurous spirit is required. The boats are individual and very stable, making for a pleasant experience. At the start of the activity, we will give everyone a backpack with the inflatable boat, which is light, compact, and easy to transport, weighing a total of 6 kg. The trekking is low intensity and lasts 40 minutes. During the walk, we cross through forests and peat bogs, native species of Tierra del Fuego. We arrive at Laguna Mariposa (Mariposa Lagoon) where, before entering the water, we will inflate the boats and prepare ourselves. With all the equipment ready, we will have an informative talk on safety and paddling technique. The lagoon is a space that allows us to build confidence with the boat, practice the technique, and feel stable and safe before entering the river. Between preparations and practice, we spend approximately one hour. The second part of the adventure begins: an hour paddling downstream, steering our boat and letting ourselves be carried away. We connect with the moment and the pristine, unaltered, imposing environment among mountains and valleys, blending in with the surroundings. Ducks, birds, and sometimes beavers often appear in the river. Our first stop will be at a small river beach where the Laguna Esmeralda (Esmeralda Lagoon) stream connects with the Olivia River. Here we will dedicate time to eat something tasty and rest a little. It will be time to relax and share while contemplating the majesty of the unique place we find ourselves in, alone, with no one around us. In the second part of the route, we pass through sections with native forest and shrubs on the sides of the river; the landscape that surrounds us is beautiful, and our mission is always to take care of it by bringing back our waste and any we see along the riverbank.
